WESTWOOD EYE DOCTORS is a full-service vision and eye care clinic and optical in Coquitlam, B.C. that has served the community for over 40 years. We provide comprehensive family eye examinations, glasses, hard and soft contact lenses, laser surgery pre-operative and post-operative care, myopia control, and vision therapy.
Dr. Mah graduated from the University of Waterloo with a Doctor of Optometry degree in 1981. He has been awarded the Bernell Award for excellence in binocular vision. He has followed his interest in developmental vision by diagnosing and treating thousands of children and adults with learning and reading difficulties. His passion in providing vision therapy stems from his experience of seeing remarkable improvements in the lives of the many people he has treated. Dr. Mah is Board-certified to prescribe therapeutic pharmaceutical agents and to treat glaucoma. He is a member of the BC Association of Optometrists, a member of the Canadian Association of Optometrists, and an associate member of the College of Optometrists in Visual Development. He is a past Vice-President and a past board director of the BC Association of Optometrists. As a past director, he headed up the Eye See ... Eye Learn® program which brings eye care and prescription eyeglasses at no charge to Kindergarten children in school districts all across BC. Dr. Mah is also active in sports vision development to improve the ability of athletes to read the field of play faster and more accurately. He has served as the developmental-vision consultant for the BCHL Coquitlam Express hockey club.
Dr. Bryant Mah graduated from the University of Waterloo with a Doctor of Optometry degree in 2015. Prior to Optometry school Dr. Bryant lived in Victoria, BC while in undergraduate studies and serving in the Canadian Forces. Dr. Bryant travelled to Port-au-Prince, Haiti in 2010 to help provide eye care after the earthquake.
Dr. Bryant completed his ocular disease externship in Mobile, Alabama at Vision America where he worked with eye surgeons in the fields of neuro-ophthalmology and retina.
He met his wife, Dr. Allison Mah, while in Optometry school. On the side he enjoys birding, camping, photography, and hiking. Dr. Bryant is privileged to be part of your eye care team at Westwood Eye Doctors.
Dr. Allison Mah graduated from the University of Waterloo Doctor of Optometry program in 2015. Prior to optometry, she completed her Bachelor of Science degree at the University of Alberta. She has traveled to China to help provide educational services to medical doctors and medical staff in less-developed areas.
Dr. Allison Mah has worked with eye surgeons and specialists at Vision America in Mobile, Alabama. She worked with eye surgeons in the specialties of ocular disease, neuro-ophthalmology, cataract surgery, oculoplastics, and retinal disease. She also worked with cornea and glaucoma specialists in Edmonton. Dr. Allison Mah has special interests in the areas of dry eye therapy, blepharitis, and demodex. She is an active member of the Canadian Association of Optometrists and British Columbia Doctors of Optometry.
